The firm
of Schwermetall operates two walking beam furnaces which are heated by
natural gas.
The slabs are heated beyond the recrystallisation temperature of the respective material up to the predefined hot rolling temperature in these furnaces. The hot rolling temperatures lie between 800 and 1,250 degrees centigrade. The walking beam furnaces are computer-controlled so as to achieve the highest possible energy efficiency here too. |
